Reggie Parker is the President and CEO of Catharsis, LLC.  He is a trainer, negotiator, team leader, and counselor.

Reggie Parker is a Sergeant and Certified Hostage Negotiator with the Hoover Police Department.  With over 20 years of service, he serves as a field training officer instructing new officers in standard operation and procedures. 

He is a Team Leader for the Crisis Negotiation Team where he trains new negotiators in basic negotiating techniques. He is also a former instructor of the National Association of School Resource Officers where he trained officers in transitioning from street to school settings. 

A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Reggie applies his background in Sociology, Corrections, and Mental Health to further the field of negotiation.

Reggie served as a Police Officer for the Jacksonville State University Campus Police for two years.  He has been a Police Officer for Hoover Police department since 1995. 

Reggie received his Master of Science degree in Community Agency Counseling from Jacksonville State University in 2011.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and his Bachelor of Science degree in Corrections from Jacksonville State University in 1994. 

He has been a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors since 2012.  He has been an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) through the Alabama Board of Examiners since 2013.  He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the Alabama Board of Examiners since 2014.


Objective: During this course telecommunications officers will be exposed to mindfulness and the benefits of the following:

1.) At the conclusion of the course telecommunications officers will have a better understanding of mindfulness and the benefits of mindfulness.

2.) Learn to be mindful in the mist of chaos.

3.) Learn the principals of how to deal with your own anxiety.

4.) How to be in control of your mind instead of your mind being in control of you.
